Who is it for?

Anyone involved in the management of a boiler house or multiple boiler houses. Those who are currently in post or those wishing to progress to undertaking Manager responsibilities. It is also recommended as a pre-cursor to the BOAS Manager course.

What is it about?

This course provides an understanding of the criticality and requirements of a Boiler House Manager including legislative requirements and best practice management in order to achieve high levels of efficiency and safety. It is also an element in the Complete Boiler House Manager suite of courses.

Course Objectives

By the end of the course delegates will be able to:
  • Understand the core responsibilities of a Boiler House Manager
  • Be aware of key legislation (inc BG01) and inspection requirements
  • Know how to prepare for statutory inspections and manage the Written Scheme of Examination (WSE)
  • Gain confidence in working with external contractors and consultants major types of boilers – upright and shell

Pre-requisites

You should have a good knowledge of steam fundamentals. Prior attendance on the Steam Boiler Operation Fundamentals course is recommended. (part of the Boiler House Manager suite of courses)

Outcome

City & Guilds Assured Certificate (currently undergoing certification)

Format of course

Classroom based. There is no assessment. Remote live option also available. This course can be taken stand alone or as part of the Complete Boiler House Manager suite of courses. The course runs from 9am to 4:30pm.
