Who is it for?

Those involved with the maintenance and installation of steam systems and those wishing to obtain a recognised maintenance based steam accreditation.

What is it about?

This course provides delegates with the basic knowledge and practical skills necessary to identify faults in and maintain steam systems. Delegate’s competence and knowledge will be assessed based on a City & Guilds approved syllabus.

Course objectives

By the end of the course delegates will be able to:

  • Understand the fundamentals of steam systems
  • Demonstrate good installation practices 
  • Demonstrate fault finding through practical experience
  • Maintain  steam traps, pressure reducing valves, condensate pumps and other ancillary equipment 
  • Have an understanding of basic boiler house maintenance - feedwater treatment and burners

Additional Information

The course is assessed by multiple choice test paper and practical assessment. Spirax Sarco is accredited by the City & Guilds Group to deliver this course. Delegates will take practical and written tests as part of the course.
