Those who respond to boiler alarms, including security personnel.
This high level course will enable you to have a greater awareness of the boiler, know how to safely enter a boiler house, identify if a boiler is in a safe state or whether action is needed and have a better awareness of best practice when responding to alarms.
Please note this course does not provide training to be a boiler operator. You will need to attend Steam Boiler Operation Fundamentals.
By the end of the course, delegates will be able to:
• Understand the fundamentals of steam
• Identify the major types of steam boiler
• Describe the function and importance of boiler fittings
• Recognise boiler alarms and explain their significance in maintaining safety
• Understand the correct procedure for shutting down the boiler in an emergency
• Define waterhammer and respond appropriately
• Evaluate the potential consequences of failing to act appropriately in boiler-related incidents.
