This letter has been provided to the employees of Spirax Sarco, Inc. to ensure that they are able to travel to and from work as employees of an essential business that is a key part of the supply chain for critical steam equipment. Spirax Sarco’s employees meet the criteria for Essential Critical Infrastructure Workers under the guidance issued by the Director of the U.S. Department of Homeland Security, Cybersecurity & Infrastructure Security Agency and the United States Presidential Policy Directive (PPD-21 dated 2/13/20). The Department of Homeland Security’s Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency’s (“CISA”) and PDD-21 identify and provide guidance on the Essential Critical Infrastructure Sectors. The sources have specified 16 Critical Infrastructure Sectors and essential workers “needed to maintain the services and functions Americans depend on daily and need to be able to operate resiliently during the COVID-19 pandemic response” and “whose assets, systems, and networks, whether physical or virtual, are considered so vital to the United States that their incapacitation or destruction would have a debilitating effect on security, national economic security, national public health or safety, or any combination thereof.” Companies providing services in these sectors may be deemed by an employer as “essential” and, as such, are encouraged under the CISA/PDD-21 Guidance to continue operating. The guidance states that workers in these Essential Critical Infrastructure Sectors “have a special responsibility to maintain your normal work schedule.”
