Financial Controller

The primary responsibility of the role is to manage the Finance of the Swedish operation and support the business’ sustainable growth, providing financial decision support and management accounting information whilst maintaining a high standard of internal controls.

Financial Controller

Key tasks:

Management information

  • Maintain and develop management accounts formats and management reporting
  • Ensure finance systems enable reliable and accurate management & statutory reporting requirements
  • Monitor and advise Line Managers of central financial KPI’s
  • Act as a financial consultant to the Line Managers and relevant stakeholders
  • Credit and cash management 

Reporting and accounting

  • Monthly reconciliation procedures (AR, AP, FA, GRNI, Bank, Payroll, Accruals)
  • Accounting A-Z
  • Cash  & Bank
  • Full control and responsibility for running accurate accounting tasks
  • Monthly Group management accounts (flash + MA)
  • Group Quarter reports
  • Group half-year and full-year reports
  • Management Accounting reports
  • Tax management (VAT, salary, corporation)
  • Producing Local Annual Report
  • Ad hoc reporting

Planning and forecasting

  • Yearly forward planning (with guidance from line manager) as per Group instructions
  • Quarterly Latest estimates (LE)

Internal Controls and Risk management

  • Lead, maintain and improve local internal controls as set out by Group and the Nordic region
  • Accountability for maintaining high standard of internal controls that supports risk governance
  • Risk management as set out by Group standards

Experience, knowledge and skills

Essential:

  • Proficient in English language (both oral and written)
  • Proficient presentation skills (both oral and written)
  • Qualified with a recognized professional accounting qualification (or equivalent studies)
  • Good knowledge of local GAAP + good understanding of IFRS
  • Good knowledge of local tax regulation and requirements
  • Strong analytical skills
  • Strong computing skills (especially excel)
  • High ethical standards (Safety, Collaboration, Customer Focus, Excellence, Respect, Integrity)
  • Good communication and networking skills with the ability to build internal and external networks, especially in the Nordic Region
  • Commercial awareness – the ability to balance business needs with strong financial management discipline
  • Able to work in an environment where deadlines need to be met and flexing working hours when needed

Advantage:

  • Knowledge of other Nordic countries local GAAP
  • Engineering/Manufacturing experience preferably within an international business
  • Knowledge of integrated ERP systems (SAP, Oracle, Dynamics)
