Sales Engineer

Responsibilities

  • To grow sales with targeted profitability within assigned territories and industry segments
  • To identify prospective customers and analyse them for business opportunities within product, packages and services
  • Maintaining relationships and business with existing customers
  • To visit customers and do walk through surveys to identify opportunities 
  • Managing and interpreting customer requirements
  • To report market trends to Management
  • Preparing customer quotations 
  • Negotiating and closing sales by agreeing terms and conditions 
  • Offering after-sales support services 
  • Administering customer accounts 
  • Preparing reports 
  • Meeting regular sales targets 
  • Recording and maintaining customer contact data 
  • Supporting marketing by attending trade shows, conferences and other marketing events 
  • Making technical presentations and demonstrating how a product will meet customers’ needs 
  • Providing pre-sales technical assistance and product education 
  • Liaising with other members of the sales team and other technical experts 
  • Solving customer problems by solution selling

Requirements: 

  • Engineering degree in Mechanical; Control & Instrumentation streams; Chemical
  • Good knowledge of steam accessories and steam engineering
  • Shall have handled the region and should have exposure in dealing directly with Customers in three or more of the following industry segments : Food & Beverage, Pharma, Chemical, Brewery, Textile, Plywood, Oil & Gas, Paper & pulp.
  • Should have exposure to direct selling to OEMs/EPCs/End-users & dealing with Engineering Consultants. Ideal would be handling 75% business through direct selling & 25% through distributors.
