Project Development Engineer

Project Development Engineer – Spirax Sarco, Inc., 1150 Northpoint Boulevard, Blythewood, SC 29016 (Full-time)

DUTIES: Partner with the direct sales and service teams to complete customer system discovery and scoping audits to generate summary reports identifying customer steam system and thermal energy improvement opportunities in safety, efficiency, and energy savings. Support the development of project costing reports that deliver defined ROI’s. Manage all facets of assigned Energy Services Group Audit projects. Perform complete customer system discovery and scoping audits and generate summary reports identifying customer steam system and thermal energy improvement opportunities in safety, efficiency, and energy savings along with implementation costing resulting in defined ROI’s. Analyze customer's technical requirements and problems or applications and make technical recommendations. Provide technical information to the sales and marketing departments and field sales personnel. Review customer specifications and applications to develop solutions and prepare quotations. Review technical bid requirements and generates audit project proposals. Accompany the sales force personnel to promote and secure ESG Audit projects. Support efforts to deliver on solution and value selling supporting the Customer First strategy.  Work with other project development engineers on ESG Audit activities, including inquiries, quotes, orders, and project implementation through to completion and invoicing.  Contact field sales force and customers directly concerning inquiries, technical information, and other issues needing clarification on audit or survey reports. Provide inside sales, engineering and project management technical support to sales personnel in order to help sales personnel maximize the time they spend directly with customers. Prepare and distribute various reports, customer spreadsheets and correspondence.  Interface with the ESG Service Coordinator regarding developing and maintaining categorizing systems to meet ESG needs. Compilation, transmittal, and recording of all forms of documentation pertaining to an opportunity and in logging all relevant data into SFDC while following standard work process using all available tools including reviewing sales personnel email.

 

REQUIREMENTS: Bachelor's degree in engineering or a related field and 3 years of engineering experience with steam generation and distribution, including strong technical knowledge of control systems, experience developing project specifications and experience creating and selling customer energy solutions, steam and condensate optimization programs and CVPs, working knowledge of computer applications including spreadsheets, word processing and presentations. Must possess valid driver’s license and be able to operate motor vehicle. Must be a Certified Energy Manager.  Extensive travel up to 60% on assignments to various unanticipated client sites within California required.  May work remotely from any U.S. location.
