Title: Maintenance/Facilities Supervisor
Role:

Position Summary:

Evaluates, prioritizes, organizes, and controls all maintenance activities to ensure that plant facilities and production equipment are maintained to the highest standards of quality and availability at two Blythewood, SC facilities. Coordinates the work of employees who repair and maintain the building/facility, equipment and machinery.

Education/Experience/Skills:

•  Bachelor’s degree in related field desired with a minimum of ten (10) years plant maintenance supervisory experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Prior supervisory experience required.
• Mechanical, electrical, and PLC controls aptitude needed in order to offer technical direction in the areas of machinery repair, equipment failure and malfunction and process improvement; ability to read schematics and building blueprints.
• Proficiency in computer skills especially in maintenance software functions and implementation, – Technical programs, MS Office Suite, application based software.

Responsibilities:

Essential Functions/Responsibilities:

• Prepares work schedules, assigns work and oversees the work to ensure that it complies with all health and safety requirements. Serves as a liaison with the safety and environmental supervisor to ensure facilities and maintenance systems support ISO 14001 requirements.
• Develops and plans a preventive maintenance schedule and ensures that all necessary maintenance is carried out at the appropriate time. Sets up and maintains a computerized maintenance management system to track equipment information and schedule work.
• Evaluates equipment and fixtures for starting up a fabrication facility; also recommends modification and/or installation of required equipment.
• Maintains tests and conducts routine repairs and preventative maintenance on production equipment inclusive of mechanical, electrical, electronic PLC systems and HVAC systems.
• Performs routine maintenance tasks on buildings and facilities as needed.
• Arranges for and manages appropriate third-party contractor support. Ensures that scheduled activities are completed to specifications. Serves as the liaison with outside contractors for facility and maintenance projects.
• Maintains accurate and up-to-date records of plant and equipment and identifies and resolves any issues relating to maintenance procedures, plant or equipment.
• Controls MRO inventory and maintains contact with the appropriate personnel to ensure that an adequate supply of maintenance parts is maintained.
• Secures estimates and cost quotes as needed for equipment and fixtures.
• Serves as a regular liaison with other facility functions to ensure that plant and equipment is available to meet operational requirements.
• Facilitates/participates in safety and/or team meetings and on special teams to resolve quality issues and to suggest improvements.
