Mechanical Biological Treatment (MBT) MBT plants vary in their design: Mechanical means sorting the waste pieces. Biological means either drying the waste so it can be burnt to generate energy as a Refuse Derived Fuel (RDF) or composting the organic part of the waste to produce compost like material. We have the knowledge and products to support you in producing dry waste that meets current standards.

Energy from Waste This type of facility combusts waste in a controlled environment to generate energy, in the form of electricity and or heat. To capture heat from the high or low pressure side of the process, we can provide:

Autoclaves and Thermal Hydrolysis Autoclaving involves the soaking of the waste with steam in a sealed pressurised environment to sterilise the waste. After steaming, the recyclables (plastics and metals) are removed. The resulting primary output is a fibrous floc material, which can be used as a Refuse Derived Fuel (RDF). Boiler house equipment and controls to maximise the efficiency of the steam system.

Advance Thermal Treatment (ATT) Includes the thermal treatment of Gasification and Pyrolysis where the waste is broken down under pressure. This generates a gas that can be used to generate heat and electricity. We can provide:
