Ultrasonic Flowmeters

Ultrasonic flowmeters provide the benefits of non-fouling operation, easy clamp-on installation and no process down-time.  They also offer flexibility, as they can be easily moved without the need to alter pipework or shut-down the process.

Ultrasonic flowmeters measure fluid velocity using transducers that are a non-contacting, clamp-on type or clamp-around.  An ultrasonic sound wave is bounced first one way and then the other between to two transducers.  The difference in the time interval measured is directly related to the velocity of the liquid in the pipe.
