Boiler Feedtank Systems
A feedtank is the normal meeting place for both condensate returned from the system, and cold make up water. The feedwater must be heated and treated to drive off oxygen and to make it chemically suitable for use in the boiler.
A poorly designed feedtank system is often the source of high heat losses and on-going maintenance where water and condensate are allowed to feed into the tank above the water surface, causing flash steam losses.
- A properly designed system will make maximum use of heat
- Chemical treatment costs will be minimised
