Course Details: Who will benefit?
Plant engineers and those responsible for the selection and efficient operation of pressure and temperature controls, primarily in steam systems, although liquid systems will be discussed.

Objectives:
To provide delegates with a basic understanding of pressure and temperature control, with emphasis on selection and application rather than pure theory.

Delegates will learn about:

  • Different types of pressure and temperature controls - direct acting, pilot operated, electric and pneumatic actuation

  • Types of controllers, signals, sensors, actuators and positioners

  • Valve selection and sizing

  • Types of applications for each type of control arrangement

  • Note: Good technical knowledge is needed. Students will benefit by first taking the Automatic Controls correspondence course.


This course can be undertaken as part of a Pearson BTEC (formerly Edexcel) Certificate.
