Blowdown Vessel

A blowdown vessel system is designed to safely handle blowdown discharges from the boiler as well as the blowdown from level control chambers and level gauge glasses. Other high pressure drains, for example from the first trapping point in the steam main, can often conveniently discharge into the vessel.

  • Blowdown vessels are now almost universally recommended as safer and cheaper than a blowdown pit.
