Component Descriptions

Part Component Function
1 Air Vent to vent air from the flash steam
2 Isolation Valve to isolate the air vent from the flash vessel
3 Isolation Valve to isolate the surplussing valve from the flash vessel
4 Strainer to protect the surplussing valve from detritus
5 Surplussing Valve to vent excess steam to atmosphere
6 Isolation Valve to isolate the surplussing valve from the vent system
7 Separator to protect the steam make-up valve from wet steam
8 Isolation Valve to isolate the make-up valve from the steam make-up line
9 Strainer to protect the steam make-up valve from detritus
10 Steam Make-up Valve to maintain a minimum steam pressure in the flash vessel
11 Pressure Gauge to monitor the pressure in the pipework
12 Isolation Valve to isolate the LP steam plant from the flash vessel
13 Safety Valve to protect the downstream equipment from overpressure
