Spirax-Sarco Engineering plc is proud to support the International Women in Engineering initiative. As an equal opportunities employer, we firmly believe that diversity, in all its forms, strengthens and creates vitality within our global business.

Achieving an even balance between the genders within the engineering sector is a challenge, but we believe that events and schemes which highlight the wide array of career paths available within engineering, promote STEM subjects within schools and universities, or raise awareness of female engineers will, over time, encourage more women to pursue careers in engineering.

Starting a career in engineering with Spirax Sarco

We have been inspired by the impressive careers of women throughout Spirax Sarco and decided to showcase their work as part of National Women in Engineering Day. We also want to highlight the exciting opportunities available when choosing a career in engineering.

We asked a cross section of women within the business to tell us why they chose a career in engineering and what they loved most. From analytical roles to marketing and product development, each of these women are passionate about their experience in engineering and recognise the opportunities it can present.

"An engineering background has helped me to better understand our customer's processes and be able to provide the best products and solutions to them."

"The most exciting aspect of my job is educating our customers about our company and the vast number of solutions that we offer, to help them become more energy efficient and enhance their profitability."

"My speciality is thermo-fluid-dynamics and modelling, which helps us understand and predict the behaviour of steam, but the best part is that what we learn is used to develop new products that save energy and improve safety."
